About a month ago, me and my little brother, Auggie put some lima beans in plastic bags with a wet paper towel in each, a trick we learned online. They would grow big and strong by growing roots to suck up the water from the moist paper towel, but the moment that we put them in our garden box, they would start being eaten by bugs and catipillars. Don't get me wrong, I love all bugs and animals, but I also love my garden and couldn't bring myself to feed it to the incects. We were also growing okra, a stronger plant that can withstand bugs, and put that in the garden box. But what to do with the lima beans once they started growing leaves, was still a mystery.
A week later me and Auggie saw a yogurt cup on the grond. Then, we decided. WE WOULD GROW THE LIMA BEAN SEEDS IN RECYCLED CONTAINERS! In the next month or so, me and my brother would scour the recycling for cans, cups, egg cartons, anything!!! Soon, we made an order in wich to do things. Grow seeds in egg cartons. Once having had grown leaves and are about an inch tall, we move them to a bigger container. What to do once they are too big to be in the semi-sized cans or cups is undecided, but everything else is doing great!
